Select-A-Branch Launches Prototype Reading Terminal Market Location - Sept. 1, 2006
Philadelphia, PA - Today, Select-A-Branch, LLC, installed its prototype machine in Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Marker, giving the market's substantial customer base access to the worlds' first ATM capable of delivering branded screens based upon bank care issuer information.
"Our ATM's recognize the issuer of your card as soon as you swipe it," said Dan Gardner, SAB founder and CEO. "From that point on, if your bank or credit union is an SAB participant, your transaction is surcharge-free and is branded identically to theirs. Our goal is to make every SAB ATM your branch away from home."
The Reading Terminal Market is equally excited about providing better ATM services to its patrons. "We're proud to offer the first SAB location," said Paul Steinke, Reading Terminal Market manager. The market has another reason to celebrate the arrival of SAB. Statistics show that surcharge-free ATM services are a substantial customer draw, typically benefiting the merchants that operate in its vicinity.
Between now and year's end, SAB plans to roll out more than two dozen ATMs throughout Pennsylvania, including all 18 service plazas along the PA Turnpike. SAB ATM's are easily recognized by their bright green enclosures.
