Select-A-Branch Wins PA Turnpike Contract - Aug. 20, 2006
Philadelphia, PA - Today, Select-A-Branch (SAB) announced that it had successfully concluded contract negotiations with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, allowing SAB to install and operate new ATMs at all turnpike service plazas. SAB's patent pending ATM software will introduce a new capability in ATM functionality. The ATM will now have the ability to recognize the financial institution associated with the card swiped and deliver a branded, surcharge-free transaction identical to that delivered via the institution's own ATMs.
"This represents an industry paradigm shift in independent ATM services," said Dan Gardner, SAB founder and CEO. "Financial institutions and their customers can finally stay connected outside of the financial institution's existing footprint. Customers will no longer be penalized for using an independent ATM; financial institutions will no longer be at the mercy of competitive brands and offerings. It's a win-win."
The Pennsylvania Turnpike is enthusiastic about offering this new service to its customers and is pleased to add Select-A-Branch to its long list of superior service providers," said Mitchell Rubin, Turnpike Commission Chairman.
"Opening the door to more value-oriented interaction between an increasing number of customers and their banks and credit unions is a natural progression of the ATM marketplace," continued Mr. Gardner. "More turnpike customers will benefit from it."
