Select-A-Branch Hires Chief Operating Officer - Sept. 5, 2006
Philadelphia, PA - Today, Select-A-Branch, LLC, announced the hiring of Dan Stechow as the company's new Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Stechow will be responsible for bringing to market the company's new ATM offering.
"SAB's patent pending software solution allows our ATMs to recognize the financial institution of each card swiped," said Mr. Stechow. "And if the cardholder's bank of credit union is a SAB participant, the transaction is both surcharge-free and branded with screens identical to that particular financial institution. It's a winning proposition for both parties."

Mr. Stechow is no stranger to ventures featuring cutting edge technology. Most recently, Mr. Stechow was Chief Operating Officer for Philadelphia's mCom Financial Solutions, where he helped bring to market a self-service coin solution featured prominently in every one of Commerce Bank's 600+ locations. "Penny Arcade and I go way back," joked Mr. Stechow.
Prior to that, Mr. Stechow was founder and CEO of Braincraft Technologies, a New York-based provider of advanced user experience solutions, where he helped pioneer Flash-based applications for companies like AT&T, Compaq, Daimler-Chrysler, and UPS, to name a few. "Dan was the visionary behind numerous cutting edge solutions," commented Adobe Systems' Eric Wittman. "He understood the power of the user experience. We considered Braincraft one of the best in the industry and openly recommended their services to our largest client. Dan is a perfect fit for Select-A-Branch and will undoubtedly contribute to their success in numerous ways."
In the months ahead, Mr. Stechow will be overseeing the roll-out of SAB's growing fleet of ATMs, including the Reading Terminal Market and the Pennsylvania Turnpike plazas.
